Html tags

Hi.
I'm getting tired of having too type < br > everytime i want a line brake and < p > when a new paragraph is needed.
Could a admin either make enter do the line break and stuff like that or post something on the homepage about some tags that can be included in postings?
Another idea i had is if people want to link to things, they have to enter that bit of html, which i have forgotten now, but i thought that if the admins could make www.google.co.uk show up as a link without having to write code in the posts, it'd be great.
What does everyone else think?
BEN.

The list of tags sounds great if they don't want to or can't include regular entering for line breaks on the Boards. I didn't know the codes used for line-breaking or paragraphing until now, so thanks for bringing this up. But yeah, I think a list of what strings of text to use to modify one's posts would be nice, as we can then coppy and paste them instead of needing to type them out. Or don't they have in some webmail or discussion Boards of other sites, where there are features to modify the posts right on the same page? Maybe that can be a feature if we choose to preview our posts, meaning that if we selected "preview post" the selection to modify the post would come up as well. I don't know whether this could be done, but yeah.

The problem is that not all html works. I haven't yet found code to get a url to actually link. It usually just shows up in my messages, so I don't try too often.

If you're gonna make us use html lineBreak/paragraph tags, why not give us the different list types, tables, embedded sounds, etc?

My personall preference is to ditch it all together and use enter for all the action, but if that's not an option, then let's go for broke!

I have a question. I don't know much (okay I know nothing) about html tags, but I would like to be able to make line breaks and paragraphs in the PM's that I send to people and maybe some posts to the boards too. So, do I actually type < br > and < p >? I tried it in a test PM to myself and it didn't seem to work. How exactly do I go about this? After you're all done laughing at me I'd appreciate some helpful answers.

I got help from Bob so disregard my question.

I agree that there needs to be some resolution, or some post from the administration telling us what we can and can't do.

Bob, I noticed that as well.

MMM theres some command that lets users link to things in html which does work on here, but i can't remember what it is.

If you want to use html tags, then use the following in your posts with out the quoats.
Line brake: "
"
Paragraph: "

Here are some of the ones that I've found that work:
line break: &ltbr&gt
Paragraph break: &ltp&gt
emphasized text: &ltem&gt
I still haven't figured out how to make links come out. If anyone has, maybe they could post it here.

Changes have been made.

What kind of changes are you talking about, to be exact? Um I know there are a few of us visually impaired people so in our profiles how come we can't use HTML to put pictures in, and use the HTML to put background music in our profiles. I tried them two things before and they did't work. I think it'd be cool. I know this will probably start a riot on this here board but oh well I don't care it's just another suggestion.

Images are a good idea (well, probably). Sounds are already provided through the audio profiles system. We'll see...

Better idea, put that in the FAQ somewhare.Cause I certainly would find it useful to read over a few times.

Thought about it, but I'd have to convert all his html characters, and that would be a lot for me. Good idea, I'll do it when I get a chance, anyone else feel like tackling it, have at it.
